Our Corporate Member spotlight is shining brightly on Bunny's Tavern in the heart of downtown Urbana. Bunny's has been locally owned and operated since 1936, and they have consistently been strong supporters of the annual Prairie Crossroads Blues Fest.
Bunny's is a hub of activities, serving up a broad menu of delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner items. They have creative daily and nightly menu specials, a variety of very cold beers and mixed drinks, and their kitchen and waitstaff are some of friendliest and most efficient in the area. Their fish specials on Fridays are some of the most popular in town! Ben Manns, the owner, is a professionally-trained chef, and brings a wealth of experience in successful restaurants to his cooking back to Urbana where he grew up. And, not only is Bunny's a great place for the community, they also pride themselves in giving back to the community. Over the years, they have sponsored benefits for MDA, fundraisers for various scholarship funds, and various events for the Prairie Crossroads Blues Society.
It's common to see a wide breadth of the community enjoying the vibe at Bunny's everyday... their menu is the real star, but the ambiance is also like taking a step back in time. Local historic articles and photos hang on the walls... did you know that Hugh Hefner's Playboy Bunnies' name came from his days hanging out at Bunny's Tavern when he attended the University of Illinois? Yep, truth!
